What you’re looking at right now is a fantastic reproduction of one of the most beautiful and reliable supercars in automotive history. We’re talking about the Bugatti Type 35, of course, which was manufactured by Ettore Bugatti from 1924 to 1930.
The Type 35 replica that we’re about to present is incredibly accurate, which is a huge deal considering how technologically advanced the original model was. For example, the Bugatti Type 35 was one of the first cars to boast cast aluminum wheels, and it also included other impressive weight-saving solutions.
Moving on to the car in question, it comes with the very same 2.3-liter supercharged straight-eight engine, a handmade single overhead cam, alloy wheels that include brake drums, and a hollow front axle. All of the body panels on the Type 35 replica were hand-rolled on an English wheel, and each square-headed bolt was created entirely by hand. As you can see, there aren’t many things that differentiate the old from the new, and that’s not something that you see every day. Not when it comes to classic supercars, at least.
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, though. The Argentinian company Pur Sang has been around for the better part of 25 years now, during which it created quite a few masterpieces based on classic automobiles. The Bugatti Type 35 could very well be their best work yet. Pur Sang charges about $230,000 to build one of these glorious replicas, but considering the car’s exceptional heritage, that actually sounds like a bargain to us.
If you want to get in contact with Pur Sang, all you have to do is visit its official website. The company will launch its very first showroom outside of Argentina soon, which will be located in Southern California.
