Stunning Air Jordan 1s Glisten with with Thousands of Swarovski Crystals
Daniel Jacob beautifies a pair of Air Jordan 1s
We’ve featured some pretty outrageous items here on Luxefeed, but few are able to go toe-to-toe with this outstanding pair of Air Jordan 1s. The shoes were adorned with a plethora of Swarovski Crystals by artist Daniel Jacob, and the result is something for the history books. The famed sculptor has created various iterations of dazzling sneakers before, but this is the first time that the actually put together a wearable pair. During a recent interview with Footwear News, Jacob stated the following:
“My work for a long time was sculpture, and my large Air Jordan sculpture was mistaken by many as wearable, and I received hundreds of requests in the last year. So much demand. But I finally decided to do a mini-launch in my favorite color of my favorite Jordans, the Pinnacle.”
Price and crystal count
Each pair is made-to-order, and this makes sense, as the shoes need three weeks of hard work in order to be complete. There are 15,000 Swarovski crystals in total, all applied by hand, which makes the $6,500 price tag justifiable. At least we think so.
Would you spend that much on a pair of Nike shoes? Admittedly, there are quite a few other bejeweled pairs out there, so there seems to be a market for them.
