Top 10 Most Expensive Meals In The World

Most Expensive Meals

Expensive Meals – Surprise your palate and your wallet!

Some of the most beautiful things about humanity come from diversity. We’re not talking about political correctness here, but diversity in its true, natural sense – our customs, our fashion, our taste in music, and our taste in food. When it comes to food, some of us are more pretentious than others, but everyone enjoys a delicious meal.

And while you can cook a perfectly good dish at home, truly sublime meals usually cost a pretty penny, and they are prepared by the world’s top chefs.

Today we’re going to focus a bit on the most expensive meals in the world – dishes that deserve to be savored and praised. Most of them are incredibly complex and require a great deal of skill to prepare properly. They also include rare and expensive ingredients, which is why some end up costing thousands of dollars.

Enjoy our Top 10 of the Most Expensive Meals in the World!

10. Masa – New York – $595.

masa new york

If you ever find yourself in New York, you should definitely make time for a meal at Masa. This is where chef Masayoshi Takayama practices his art, and really, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better Japanese restaurant in the area. A dinner menu here will set you back $595, which doesn’t include tax or drinks.

However, the restaurant has a clear no-tip policy, which could save you a few bucks. The menu changes frequently at Masa, but one thing remains constant: the quality. Dining here is expensive, true, but it’s also a unique experience.

9. Ultraviolet – Shanghai – $636.

Ultraviolet Shanghai

A perfect dining experience is usually paired with a conversation, but how about a light show and some themed music as a side dish? The Ultraviolet concept dates back to 2012, and it involves a 20-course meal that promises to dazzle your taste buds as well as your sight and hearing.

French chef Paul Pairet makes sure that all of the table’s guests receive the same food at the same time in order to make sure that everything is in sync. Is it worth $636, though? If you are fortunate enough to try it out someday, do let us know!

8. Burger Brasserie – Las Vegas – $777.

Burger Brasserie

You’re in Las Vegas, right? And you’re looking for the best possible burger money can buy. Well, all you have to do is go over to the Paris Las Vegas resort restaurant and order the Kobe beef and Maine lobster burger. It’ll bring you dangerously close to spending $1000, but you’ll definitely enjoy every single bite.

This burger includes premium ingredients such as pancetta, seared foie gras, goat cheese, arugula, Maine Lobster, a BLD salad, and 100-year aged balsamic vinegar. You’ll also get a bottle of Rose Dom Perignon Champagne to wash it all down.

7. Serendipity 3 Golden Opulence Sundae – New York – $1,000.

Golden Opulence Sundae

If you have a sweet tooth and $1000 at your disposal, get over to New York and try out the Golden Opulence Sundae at Serendipity 3. This world-class dessert needs to be ordered 48 hours in advance, as it requires some pretty fancy ingredients to prepare. It might just be the most decadent sundae in the world, as it’s been featured in the media many times since its introduction.

Oh wait, we even featured it ourselves, how about that?

So about those ingredients: Tahitian vanilla ice cream, specialty chocolates, candied fruits from Paris, caviar, truffles, and 24-karat gold leaf. The sundae comes in a Baccarat crystal bowl, which you can take home with you as a reminder of this $1000 splurge.

6. SubliMotion – Ibiza – $1,757.

Sublimotion Ibiza

Yeah, Ultraviolet is nice, but have you tried SubliMotion? This unusual dining experience is based on the same principle but costs so much more. It doesn’t really offer more food, as the tasting menu also comprises 15 to 20 courses. For $1757, you’ll get to enjoy a true feast for the body and soul, as food blends with art, music, and a light show that you won’t soon forget.

SubliMotion opened its doors courtesy of Chef Paco Roncero in Ibiza, as part of the Hard Rock Hotel.

5. Norma’s Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata – New York – $2,000.

Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata

Halfway through our list of the most expensive meals in the world, we’re looking at the Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata, which is being served at Norma’s in New York. Now, Norma’s is a kid-friendly restaurant that doesn’t focus on decadent meals. However, its menu does feature a pretty expensive omelet that includes 10 ounces of Sevruga caviar.

This omelet costs $2000, but you can also order a smaller version with just 1 ounce of caviar for $200. That’s still a lot of money to pay for an omelet if you ask us, but we’re not here to judge.

4. Industry Kitchen – 24K Pizza – New York – $2,000.

24K Pizza

If you like gold so much that you just want to eat it, maybe the 24K pizza is right for you. You can enjoy this luxurious meal at Industry Kitchen in New York, but you’ll have to order it two days in advance. As one of the most expensive pizzas in the world, this one includes ingredients such as truffles, Stilton cheese, foie gras, platinum Ossetra caviar, and 24K gold leaves.

Presumably, the taste is something to write home about as well, especially given the quality and rarity of these ingredients. Clearly, the 24K Pizza is not the most expensive pizza in the world, as there are other similar meals out there that cost ten times as much. Still, if you’re looking for a luxurious meal in New York, Industry Kitchen’s offering is probably the way to go.

3. Fleur Burger – Las Vegas – $5,000.

Fleur Burger

If you thought Burger Brasserie was expensive, wait until you see the price tag of the Fleur Burger! This delicious money-grabber represents the hard work of Hubert Keller, and it costs $5000. It features very delicious meat such as Wagyu beef, which is known to cost about $100 per pound.

The truffles aren’t exactly cheap either, and neither is the bottle of 1995 Chateau Petrus that comes with the burger. The bottle alone costs $2500, so the restaurant doesn’t make quite a huge profit from this particular course, even though this is one of the most expensive meals you’ll ever have.

2. Renato Viola – Louis XIII Pizza -Italy – $10,338.

Louis XIII Pizza

For $10,338, Renato Viola himself will come to your house and bake you the Louis XIII Pizza, which is close to being the most expensive meal in the world right now. This lavish pizza impresses with fabulous toppings such as mozzarella di bufala, caviar, and lobster. All of these are imported from various corners of the globe, by the way, which is fitting for one of the world’s most expensive meals.

To wash it all down, you’ll savor Remy Martin Cognac Louis XIII and Champagne Krug Clos du Mesnil 1995. You’d have to be incredibly rich to spend this much on a pizza, but hey, might as well try it at least once in a lifetime. You know, for bragging rights.

1. The Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence – $14,500.

Fortress Stilt Fisherman

So we’ve reached the end of, and what an incredible journey it’s been! The final piece of the puzzle in our top 10 of the most expensive meals in the world is the Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence, which is being served at the Fortress Resort & Spa in Sri Lanka. This thing will set you back $14,500, and it requires a minimum of 24-hours notice before it can be prepared.

It boasts Italian cassata flavored with Irish cream, and it goes well with the pomegranate and mango compote that is included in the price. No matter how expensive the ingredients are, they could never really justify almost $15,000. However, the 80-carat aquamarine stone that sits beneath the handcrafted chocolate stilt fisherman should do the trick. Otherwise, the base of this delight is a champagne sabayon, which is probably quite delicious.
