During one of our recent Kickstarter sweeps, we stumbled upon a fairly unique project that involves luxurious yet affordable Swiss timepieces. The CABARO Swiss Automatic watch project is fully funded to about $47,000 at the time of writing courtesy of 167 backers, and deliveries are expected to commence sometime in July 2017. Regarding the watch itself, its creators have kicked off the campaign with a Founders Edition, which comes in six different versions as far as case materials and dial colors are concerned.
To be more specific, we’re talking about the A1 version with a Charcoal Black Dial/18K Plated Rose Gold Case, the A2 with its Egg Shell White Dial/18K Plated Rose Gold Case, the A3 with its Egg Shell White Dial/18k Plated Rose Gold Case, and the A4 with a Midnight Blue dial/Stainless Steel Silver Case. As for the final two versions, they are named A5 and A6, and they come with Egg Shell White dials and 18k Plated Rose Gold cases, as well as Egg Shell White dials and Stainless Steel Silver cases respectively.
Each variant is powered by either Automatic or Quartz movements, with the automatic versions being available in 42mm cases, while the Quartz versions come in 38mm or 42mm sizes. The Automatic Swiss Made Sellita SW269-I movement includes 31 jewels and beats at 28,800 beats per hour at a frequency of 4Hz. It has a 38-hour power reserve, which is definitely adequate. As for the Ronda Slimtech 1060 Quartz movement, it includes a quartz crystal that oscillates at a precise frequency of 32768 times each second.
We should also tell you a bit about the straps for the CABARO watch. They were put together using exquisite leather, and they flaunt rounded ends that give off a modern, appealing appearance. There’s also a selection of NATO straps available, which can be used to create a more timeless look.
